Transmar is a long-established traditional shipping Company, founded by George A. Kavoukas in 1972. In 1988 Mrs. Margarita Kavouka took over the Company after the sudden death of her husband, and in the late 90s her two sons Athanasios and Nikolaos joined the Company. The Company is focusing on the dry bulk handy-max sector with Quality, Safety and Accuracy being the operating cornerstones. Transmar is currently oriented in managing a small fleet of handy-max vessels investigating expansion paths as well.

Transmar operates and has the full management of three (3) Bulk Carriers and therefore the Company’s Operating System (The SMS) is developed for the Operation of Dry Cargo. The Company is committed in implementing sound Ship Management practices. The Company’s SMS will meet as a minimum standard the requirements of the ISM. All personnel involved in the implementation of the Company’s SMS must be familiar with the Company’s policies, procedures and instructions which are kept both at the office and onboard the vessel and are available for all personnel to read at any time. Monitoring of Maritime Regulations (new editions and amendments of mandatory or voluntary rules, regulations, guidelines and recommendations) and follow them up by all Company’s employees either through seminars or courses.
